Here you will find an overview of Altaian peasants houses that represent one of the most interesting branches of Altaian material culture. In complying of your interest there are descriptions of climat and weather conditions of the region, its architectural environment, material and spiritual traditions relating to a house as a center of peasant life.

A demonstrational part constists of some monuments of peasant living place that were preserved in the area of Altai territory and date back to the end of XIX - the beginning of XX centuries. Among them there are distinguished basical types of peasant houses. The last part includes a list of publications on the subject.
